<image:title>Available Dogs - Scout - Age: 2.5 years Breed: mini Aussie Sex: Male</image:title>
<image:caption>Looking for a loving, stable new home for this 2½-year-old purebred Mini Australian Shepherd, who weighs approximately 25–30 pounds. He is healthy, fully up to date on all vaccinations, and an incredibly affectionate, cuddly dog who forms strong bonds with his people and loves being close to them. While he enjoys daily walks and runs, he is not overly high-energy like many dogs of his breed and is just as content relaxing around the house. He is a wonderful family dog who is very loyal and protective of those he loves, making him best suited for a calm, stable home environment. At home, he has excellent manners and good training foundations. He rings a bell to go outside, was crate trained as a puppy, and now sleeps comfortably on a bed in the bedroom. He is still comfortable going into a crate when needed, particularly for long car rides. He walks very well on a leash and generally comes when called, although he can become distracted if he is chasing something. He will chase a ball, though he does not consistently fetch and return it. He does not show signs of separation anxiety and handles time alone well. He has made significant improvements with car travel and now does well on drives, though he is not completely relaxed yet. He willingly jumps into the car when it’s time to go and tolerates longer rides without issue. He is generally quiet but will bark when a stranger drives onto the property, after which he settles and does not bark excessively. In terms of other animals, he does not do well with cats and will chase them, so a cat-free home is required. He has limited interaction with unfamiliar dogs but does very well with our other dog and our in-laws’ dog. When on walks, he shows little interest in passing dogs and remains focused on his handler. He can be unpredictable around small children and should not be placed in a home with young kids. Due to his protective nature, he should also be supervised around unfamiliar visitors. His ideal home would be an adult-only household or one with older, dog-savvy teens, some space to enjoy, and people who are looking for a loyal, devoted companion rather than a highly social dog. The goal is to find him a safe, caring forever home where he can continue to feel secure, loved, and included as part of the family. He is a deeply affectionate dog who will thrive with the right people and return that love with unwavering loyalty.</image:caption>

<image:title>Available Dogs - Sir Duke - Age: 3-4 months Breed: French Bull Dog Sex: Male</image:title>
<image:caption>It is hard to believe this sweet boy ever found himself alone on the streets, but at just 9 weeks old that is where Sir Duke was discovered. Animal control picked him up, and Pet Assistance League knew he needed a second chance. Now around 6 pounds and full of puppy energy, Sir Duke is a happy, playful little Frenchie who loves life and everyone in it. He is still a baby and is working on house training, but he is doing very well. He also sleeps through the night in a crate. Sir Duke is now neutered. He also had a cherry eye in both eyes that were successfully removed. No long-term issues are expected. He has met cats and would love to play with them, although he cannot understand why they sometimes run from him. He also plays nicely with other small dogs. Sir Duke has not been around children yet, but with his sweet temperament he will likely do well with gentle, respectful kids. *adoption fee: $300</image:caption>

      <image:title>Available Cats - Berry - Age: 8 years Sex: Male</image:title>
<image:caption>Berry is an approximately 8-year-old neutered male who has had his world turned completely upside down through no fault of his own. He originally belonged to a loving owner and was deeply bonded to both him and the family dog. After a sudden tragedy, Berry lost not only his person but also his canine companion, and has since been moved between homes where he hasn’t received the understanding or affection he needs. Despite all of this, Berry remains a very sweet, affectionate boy. He is litter box trained, vaccinated, microchipped, and has been described as a good mouser. He previously enjoyed going on walks with his owner and the dog, and is known to do well with dogs. He would likely thrive as an only cat, though he may be able to adjust to other cats with time and proper introductions. Berry seems understandably depressed and withdrawn right now—he’s grieving and craving stability, kindness, and companionship. He would do best in a quiet, calm home, ideally with someone who understands that love, patience, and routine can help a sensitive soul heal. Berry doesn’t need perfection—he just needs someone willing to give him the safety, respect, and affection he’s been missing. In return, you’ll gain a loyal, loving companion who truly wants to belong again.</image:caption>
