Azzaro is a one and a half-year-old, 45-pound Australian Shepherd looking for the right home. He has been with his family since he was 12 weeks old and was originally purchased from a breeder.
Azzaro is a very loving, attached dog who likes to be close to his people. He is affectionate, loyal, and has a big personality. He does well with kids and is also comfortable being left home alone. He is crate-trained, though he does not need to spend much time in his crate because he is generally well-behaved when left alone.
Azzaro knows basic commands, has pretty good recall, and listens well when he is focused. He does get very excited when meeting new people and may jump or bark when guests come over, so he would benefit from continued training and consistency with greetings.
He does best with medium to larger dogs. He is not a good fit for a home with cats or small dogs, as he tends to chase cats and squirrels and can be too pushy with smaller dogs.
Azzaro would do best in a home that understands the energy and intelligence of Australian Shepherds and can give him structure, attention, and continued training.
He will be neutered before going to his new home.
